M4 Carbine

If the Desert Eagle is the celebrity of the handgun world, then the M4 Carbine is surely its assault rifle older brother. This is mostly because any American SWAT officers in any film need to be wielding their trusty M4. This is a member of the M16 family, and is mostly used because it is helpfully lightweight. This gun features some impressively clever technology, such as an air-cooling system, selective fire and an option to add a grenade launcher. Since 1994, it has been deployed in many American combat zones, and is the weapon of choice for the US army. As such, it has been used in both Afghanistan and Iraq by army personnel. In recent years its replacement has been planned for, and in 2008 nineteen arms companies were invited to produce prototypes for the US government. The M4 can fire over 700 rounds per minute - using the .223 Remington / 5.56x45mm cartridge.

Law & Order

All modern police forces need high-quality, effective and reliable firearms to deal with various situations, ranging from arresting a suspect to controlling a terrorist. In the UK police hardly ever carry firearms, whereas in America they are virtually essential. The Glock 22, for example, is often seen as a perfectly-adapted weapon for law enforcment, as is the SIG Sauer P220 - they're lightweight, trusty and easy to conceal. Since 9/11, the threat from terrorists has grown around the world, and more firepower is required to prepare for the possibilities of an attack. Special police forces have also been introduced in recent years, such as bomb disposal squads; these groups can deal with anything from crisis situations to recently-discovered mines from previous wars.

Heat

Lieutenant Vincent Hanna is desperate to find Neil McCauley and his group of expert robbers, who have stolen far too much to go unnoticed. Eventually, the police uncover an incriminating trail linking him to a $1.6 million armoured car heist. For the first time, the group has failed, and now the cops are onto them. When the thieves try again, this time with the prospect of a $12 million 'retirement' jackpot keeping them going, the police intercept their messages and prepare an ambush. Hanna is a skilled detective. McCauley is a skilled thief. They are both prepared to do whatever it takes to stop the other person succeeding. But will McCauley and his crew escape, and if so, at what cost?

Terminator Series

In the future, machines will control the planet, under the power of the immense Skynet. The Terminator has gone back in time, and is under orders to kill Sarah Connor - the mother of the future rebel John Connor, who will lead a strong resistance against Skynet. John orders a soldier to defend him, by saving his mother. In the second film, known as Judgement Day, a highly-advanced Terminator is once more attempting to kill John Connor. This time, it's the newly updated T-1000, which is going to murder John Connor while he's still a child. The T-1000 is specially-adapted to shape-shift into any human shape, due to its liquid metal form. For this reason, it can also 'heal' faster than the other Terminator machines. However, John is now protected by a redesigned Terminator, the 800 series, while Sarah Connor is determined to destroy Skynet before it is created.
