Die Hard
The first Die Hard film starts when a group of German terrorists, lead by Hans Gruber, take a group of hostages at Nakatomi Plaza. They aim to hold off the police for long enough to break into the vault. However, New York police detective John McClane manages to hide from the terrorists, and starts to take them down individually. But are the FBI going to cause problems by forcing their way in from the outside? Die Hard 2 shows ex-army general Colonel Stuart's attempts to reinstate an imprisoned dictator. He hires some mercenaries to take control of Washington Airport, and prepares to free the target.
But McClane is once more on the scene, and is desperate to stop the terrorists from succeeding. In Die Hard with a Vengeance, McClane is down on his luck, struggling with drinking problems. But when a terrorist called "Simon" contacts him and forces him to undergo a series of tasks, McClane can hardly refuse: the villain has a series of explosives set up across New York, and is prepared to use them. The FBI eventually discover Simon's real identity, and so McClane attempts to find him... before it's too late. In the most recent installment, Live Free or Die Hard, America is once more under threat. This time, it's a group of cyber-criminals who are attacking U.S. computers.
McClane enlists Matt Farrell, an accomplished computer hacker, who knows too much about the terrorists for his own good. Villainous mastermind Thomas Gabriel sends out assassins to take them out. Will McClane defeat him, and if so, at what cost?
